Key takeaways
- An intimate Bali wedding for 20 guests in the low season costs around $10,000; a classic wedding for 60 guests around $26,200.
- A 100-guest luxury wedding in high season comes to roughly $52,200.
- Venue hire starts from about $2,900 and reaches $14,900 for an exclusive beachfront villa — many venues also require a minimum stay.
- The dry season, April to October, is the best time to marry; a wedding in Bali is usually symbolic, with the legal part done at home.
Bali is where The Aisle Advisors began, and it’s still one of the destinations we’re asked about most. It offers something rare: clifftop and jungle venues that would cost a fortune in Europe, with food, flowers and service that are genuinely world-class. But Bali prices are also some of the most confusing — packages, buyouts and per-night fees make it hard to compare. Here’s what a Bali wedding really costs in 2026.
The short answer
A wedding in Bali typically costs between $8,000 and $12,000 for an intimate celebration of around 20 guests, about $26,000 for a classic wedding with 60 guests, and around $52,000 for a 100-guest luxury wedding in peak season. Those figures cover the whole wedding day — venue, food and drink, photography, flowers, music, extras and on-the-day coordination — but not flights or accommodation.
| Your wedding | Estimated total | Usual range | Per guest |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 guests · intimate · low season | $10,000 | $8,000 – $12,000 | $500 |
| 30 guests · intimate · shoulder season | $11,400 | $9,100 – $13,700 | $380 |
| 60 guests · classic · shoulder season | $26,200 | $21,000 – $31,400 | $437 |
| 100 guests · classic · high season | $32,700 | $26,200 – $39,200 | $327 |
| 100 guests · luxury · high season | $52,200 | $41,800 – $62,600 | $522 |

Bali wedding cost breakdown
This is how the budget divides up at three different sizes:
| Category | 30 guests · intimate | 60 guests · classic | 100 guests · luxury |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venue | $3,200 | $6,000 | $8,800 |
| Catering & drinks | $2,900 | $7,400 | $17,300 |
| Photo & video | $1,100 | $1,800 | $2,800 |
| Flowers & styling | $1,700 | $6,300 | $15,100 |
| Music | $500 | $1,000 | $1,800 |
| Extras & rentals | $1,100 | $2,200 | $4,100 |
| Planning & coordination | $900 | $1,500 | $2,300 |
| Total | $11,400 | $26,200 | $52,200 |
Food and drink
Catering in Bali runs from about $57 per guest for a relaxed intimate menu to about $97 per guest for a luxury dinner, with drinks adding another $38 to $76 per guest. Imported wine and spirits carry heavy duties in Indonesia, so the bar is often where Bali budgets surprise people — a local spirits package costs a fraction of an open bar of imported wine.
Flowers and styling
This is where Bali weddings grow fastest. Ceremony and reception styling ranges from around $1,200 for a simple, natural set-up to around $7,800 for a full luxury design, plus table flowers from $80 to $530 per table. Bali’s florists are extraordinary — but tropical blooms, installations and lighting add up quickly.
Photography, music and the rest
Photography costs from about $1,100 to $2,800 depending on coverage and whether video is included. A DJ or live music is $500 to $1,800. Hair and make-up, the cake, the celebrant and rentals together add about $1,100 to $4,100 — small items that are easy to forget.
What Bali wedding venues really cost
Bali venues are priced in very different ways, which is what makes them so hard to compare. These are real starting prices from venues we work with:
| Venue | Starting price | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Luxury ocean-view hotel | $2,876 | Includes two nights for the couple; guest rooms available |
| Jungle river villa | $3,000 | Exclusive two-night buyout, up to 50 guests |
| Luxury jungle resort | $3,500 | Wedding packages; guest accommodation on site |
| Clifftop private event space | ≈ $3,600 | Open-air event space only |
| Luxury beachfront resort | $4,715 per night | Buyout of 50 luxury tents, up to 120 guests |
| Luxury private clifftop villa | $7,200+ | Two-night minimum stay |
| Ocean-view venue | $8,000 | Up to 125 guests; three-night stay for 12 guests required |
| Luxury clifftop villa | $8,000 | Private villa with outdoor chapel, up to 250 guests |
| Luxury clifftop villa resort | ≈ $14,880 | 14 private villas, two-night minimum stay |
| Luxury beachfront villa | $14,900 | One-night exclusivity; eight bedrooms sleeping 16 |
Venue starting prices are indicative and may exclude tax, catering, drinks, rentals, minimum spend, service charges and accommodation. Always confirm directly with the venue.
Notice how many of them come with accommodation attached. A $14,900 villa buyout can be better value than a $3,600 event space once you add eight bedrooms for your closest guests — and worse value if half of them won’t stay. That’s why we always compare venues on the total cost of your wedding week, not the headline price.
The best time to get married in Bali
Bali has two seasons. The dry season, April to October, is the best time for an outdoor wedding — clear skies, lower humidity and the most reliable sunsets. The wet season brings heavy afternoon downpours, especially from December to February.
| Season | Months | Venue prices |
|---|---|---|
| High | July – August, December | About 10% higher |
| Shoulder | April – June, September – October | Standard |
| Low | January – March, November | About 15% lower |
Shoulder months are the sweet spot: dry-season weather at standard prices, and far easier availability than July and August, when Bali venues book up more than a year ahead (here’s how far in advance to plan a destination wedding). Low-season weddings can be lovely and noticeably cheaper — just make sure your venue has a beautiful wet-weather plan, not an afterthought.
Can you legally get married in Bali?
Yes, but it takes planning. Under Indonesian law, both partners must share one of the religions the government recognises, and the ceremony is performed by a religious minister or a civil registry officer. For non-Muslim couples, a Notice of Intention to Marry must be lodged at least ten days before the wedding, and the marriage must then be registered at the Civil Registry Office to be legal. Most foreign nationals also need a Certificate of No Impediment from their own government, along with passports, birth certificates and, where relevant, proof of divorce.
The official details are on the Australian Embassy in Indonesia and GOV.UK pages — check the version for your own country, as requirements change.
Because of this, most of our couples choose a symbolic ceremony in Bali — with exactly the vows, celebrant and setting they want — and sign the legal papers at home before or after the trip. It’s simpler, cheaper and gives you complete freedom over the ceremony. Our Bali Legal Validity Guide explains what is and isn’t valid at home, and the documents to start gathering.
Hidden costs of a Bali wedding
- Tax and service. Many Bali hotels and restaurants quote “++” prices, with government tax and service charge added on top — often around 21%. Always ask whether a quote is net.
- Minimum stays and buyouts. Villas especially may only host weddings with a two- or three-night booking.
- Imported drinks. Duties make imported wine and spirits expensive — check exactly what a drinks package includes.
- Wet-weather plan. A marquee or covered alternative may be extra.
- Vendor transport and curfews. Remote clifftop venues can add transport for vendors and guests, and many venues have a music curfew, with overtime charged after it.
- Bali’s tourist levy and visas. Every foreign visitor pays Bali’s tourist levy of 150,000 rupiah (pay ahead on the official Love Bali site), and most nationalities need a visa on arrival, which can be bought online through Indonesia’s official e-visa site. Small per person — but worth telling guests about.
Before anyone books, check the latest entry rules for your nationality — passports must be valid for at least six months after arrival in Indonesia (see GOV.UK’s Indonesia travel advice or Smartraveller’s Indonesia page).
Keep 10% of your budget aside as a contingency — and read every contract before you sign. Our Contract Red Flags guide lists the clauses that have caught couples out before.
How to save on a Bali wedding
- Marry in the shoulder season — April to June or September to October — for dry-season weather at standard prices.
- Choose a venue that includes accommodation if your closest guests will stay with you anyway.
- Go local at the bar. A local spirits package instead of imported wine can save thousands.
- Let the setting do the work. A clifftop at sunset needs far fewer flowers than a ballroom.
- Keep the guest list honest. Every ten guests adds around $1,200 in food and drink at a classic Bali wedding.
